Blanford’s fox (Vulpes cana) is a small, agile canid native to arid and rocky regions of the Middle East and Central Asia. It has a soft, grayish-brown coat, large ears for heat regulation, and an exceptionally long, bushy tail that aids in balance while climbing. Uniquely adapted to rugged terrain, Blanford’s fox is an expert climber and often seen navigating cliffs and steep slopes with ease. Nocturnal and solitary, it feeds on insects, small vertebrates, and fruit. Despite its elusive nature, it is well-adapted to its harsh environment and rarely seen far from rocky cover.
