The yellow-throated marten (Martes flavigula) is a striking and agile carnivore found across much of South and Southeast Asia, from the Himalayas to China, Korea, and parts of Indonesia. It has a slender body, a long bushy tail, and a distinctive coat with a dark brown back, pale legs, and a bright yellow or orange throat and chest. Bold and energetic, it is both diurnal and highly social, sometimes hunting in pairs or small groups. The yellow-throated marten is an omnivore, feeding on small mammals, birds, reptiles, fruit, and occasionally honey. Highly adaptable, it is listed as Least Concern, although habitat destruction poses local threats.
